Coombe Abbey Hotel

Coombe Abbey is set in 500 acres of Warwickshire countryside on the eastern edge of Coventry and houses 11 meeting rooms within its 12th-century buildings, with capacity for larger functions up to around 500 guests. It's better suited to corporate away-days, weddings, smaller conferences and private celebrations than large-scale trade shows. Compact reaction games, photo booths and pub games tend to work well within the heritage room sizes, and clients often want entertainment that complements rather than competes with the character of the venue.

Coventry University and the University of Warwick

Planning game hire for a Coventry event

There are a few practical considerations worth thinking through before you confirm your game choices.

Guest numbers and floor space matter more than many people realise. Games need enough clear space to operate safely, and you'll want room for a small queue to form without blocking walkways or fire exits. If you share your floor plan with us early, we can help you work out what fits comfortably.

Your audience mix is equally important. A group that spans different ages, physical abilities and personality types needs a range of options rather than a single high-energy game that only appeals to a subset of your guests. Think about who might feel left out if the entertainment skews too competitive or too physical, and consider whether a mix of active games and lower-key options would serve the group better.

Your event objectives should guide your choices too. Exhibition stands need games that draw footfall and start conversations quickly. Team building days need activities that sustain engagement across several hours and encourage people to interact with colleagues they don't usually spend time with. Evening receptions need something conversational that doesn't dominate the room. Each calls for a different approach.

On logistics, most games need a standard mains socket and a clear floor area of around two to three metres. If your venue has unusual constraints, let us know and we can suggest alternatives that work within those limits.
