Planning Timeline

Christmas is our busiest season, and December weekends book out first. Here's a practical timeline to make sure your event comes together smoothly:

8–10 weeks before: Confirm your venue, guest numbers and budget. Get in touch with us to check availability for your preferred games and date. This is especially important for December Fridays and Saturdays.

6–8 weeks before: Finalise your game selection. If you want custom branding on games — your company logo on a prize crane or branded photo booth prints — we need artwork at this stage to allow time for our in-house print workshop.

4 weeks before: Confirm logistics. We'll need venue details for delivery access, setup time, and power supply. Most games need a standard 13A socket. Let us know if your venue has any restrictions.

1 week before: Final confirmation of timings. We'll agree arrival time, setup duration and collection arrangements. We typically arrive 1–2 hours before your event starts.

Choosing Games for Your Christmas Event

Different types of Christmas events call for different entertainment. Here's what we've found works well:

Office Christmas Parties

The atmosphere at an office party is relaxed and social. Games that encourage mingling and friendly competition work best. Retro Arcade Games create natural gathering points. Casino Tables add a touch of sophistication. Christmas Photo Booths with festive props give everyone something to laugh about — and instant prints to take home.

For larger office parties, create zones: a games area with Batak and Strike a Snowflake, a relaxed area with Scalextric and arcade machines, and a photo area with booth and props.

Client Receptions and Corporate Dinners

More formal events need entertainment that complements rather than dominates. Casino Tables with a professional croupier suit the tone. A Magic Mirror or photo booth in a foyer area gives guests something to enjoy during drinks without disrupting the main event.

Team Building Christmas Events

If your Christmas event is doubling as a team day, competitive games bring out the best energy. Reindeer Racing and Roll & Bowl create team vs team moments. Candy Cane Snatch It and Candy Cane Megawire work as individual challenges with leaderboards.

Family Christmas Events

If children are attending, mix the entertainment. Christmas Prize Cranes appeal to all ages. Giant Jenga and Giant Connect 4 are family favourites. A Santa's Grotto with full set dressing creates a magical focal point for younger visitors.

Venue Considerations

Space: A single game needs roughly 2m x 2m of floor space plus room for queuing. If you're booking 4–6 games, you'll want a venue area of at least 40–50 square metres for the entertainment zone.

Access: We need vehicle access for delivery. Hotel function rooms, conference centres and office buildings all work — we just need to know about lifts, corridors and any time restrictions for loading.

Power: Most of our games run on standard UK mains power. For venues with limited sockets, we can advise on power distribution and bring extension leads.

Noise: Games like Batak and Dance Machines generate excitement — which is great in a large venue but might clash with speeches in a smaller room. We can help you choose games that suit your venue's acoustics and your event format.

Budgeting

Christmas entertainment costs depend on how many games you hire and how long you need them. As a rough guide:

  • Small office party (20–50 people): 2–3 games typically works well
  • Medium corporate event (50–150 people): 4–6 games creates a proper entertainment area
  • Large Christmas party (150+ people): 6+ games, potentially with staffed activities
