New Year's resolution: Time to get organised!
Are you one of the thousands of people who set a new year's resolution each year, only to see it fail within a month or two of starting? Yep, we've been there too! We've promised to eat healthier, exercise and spend more time with family to name a few.
Is your new year's resolution this year to get organised? This is a big one for many people and can help you to achieve many of your other goals. Here are some great tips on how to get more organised this year and finally see your resolution through.
One of the keys to getting more organised is to start small. Rather than try and organise all aspects of your life in one go, start with one area, work on this until you're happy and then move on to the next area. Don't forget to revisit it regularly to make sure you stay on track.
Get yourself a calendar or diary (paper or electronic) and commit to use it daily for recording all your activities. Having everything in one place makes it so much easier to manage.
Set some realistic and manageable goals. We're not saying don't aim high, your goals should stretch you, but make sure they are not unrealistic and can be achieved given everything else on your plate.
Next, you need to set up daily, weekly and monthly routines to help you achieve your goal and stay on track. What can you do before you go to bed to get ready for the next day? What can you do in the morning to get focused on what you need to achieve that day? Are there weekly and monthly routines, such as a weekly meal planning or monthly budgeting that will help you reach your goals?
Sometimes you need to acknowledge that you can't do it all on your own. It is not a sign of weakness to get support. Enlist the help of family, friends or experts in an area to achieve your resolution. Your family can play a part in the running of the household. External parties such Virtual Assistants can help with a variety of tasks. If you've got a big event coming up give us a call to see how we can help.
Don't forget to check in regularly to see how you're going. If you need to make changes to stay on track, do it. Also remember to acknowledge your successes. If you've stayed focused and achieved some of your goals, give yourself a huge pat on the back, you deserve it!
