Game Hire at Hilton Birmingham Metropole

If you've booked an event at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole and you're thinking about how to keep attendees engaged between sessions, on an exhibition stand, or through the evening, we can help. Fun Pro supplies interactive games, arcade machines, and event entertainment to events taking place at the Metropole. We don't hire out the hotel itself; that side is handled by the Hilton's own conference and events team. What we do is deliver, set up, and collect the entertainment that fills the suite you've booked, so the guest experience is one less thing on your list.

We've been supplying corporate events across the UK since 2009, and our team is based just down the road in Coventry. From that central Midlands base we're regularly at the Metropole and across the NEC campus, which makes access and timings straightforward for us.

About the Hilton Birmingham Metropole as an Events Venue

The Metropole sits on the NEC campus beside Pendigo Lake, minutes from Birmingham International Station and Birmingham Airport, with direct access to the motorway network. For attendees travelling from across the UK or internationally, it's one of the easier venues to reach.

It's also one of the largest conference hotels in the country outside London. The hotel offers 31 flexible function rooms catering for anything from 2 to 2,000 people, with around 6,000 square metres of meeting space and capacity for up to 5,000 attendees across the whole building.

There are roughly 795 bedrooms on site, which makes it a practical choice for multi-day conferences where guests stay over. AV and production support is handled in-house, and event organisers are allocated their own Guest Relations Manager on the day. Venue bookings are made directly through the Hilton's events team.

Function Rooms at the Metropole and the Games That Suit Them

Different spaces work well for different kinds of entertainment. Once you know which suite your event is in, we can recommend games that fit the footprint, power setup, and style of the occasion.

The Monarch Suite

The Monarch is the hotel's flagship space, a large pillar-free suite hosting receptions for up to 2,000 guests or banquets for around 1,400. It comes with its own exclusive entrance, foyer, organiser's office, cloakroom with registration area, and an adjacent break-out room. With this much floor area, larger-footprint games work well. Think racing car simulators, Batak Pro and Batak Lite reaction games, prize cranes, and photo booths for post-dinner entertainment. The foyer is often the smart spot for a game or two during arrival drinks, giving guests something to gather around before the main room opens.

The Palace Suite

Sitting at the centre of the hotel with large windows and lakeside views, the Palace Suite can be divided into multiple areas for break-out sessions, registration and drinks receptions. That divisibility is useful for entertainment: you can run games in one zone while sessions continue in another. Shuffleboard, retro arcade machines, and prize wheels all work nicely in this kind of setup.

The Kings and Westminster Suites

The Kings Suite handles up to around 800 guests and the Westminster works well for keynote addresses to around 500. Both are large enough for a proper entertainment offering alongside the main programme. For evening events, casino tables, photo booths and arcade machines suit the scale, while daytime conferences often work better with reaction games that guests can play in a couple of minutes between sessions.

Smaller Suites and Meeting Rooms

The Warwick Suite suits gatherings of up to around 150 with its own cloakroom and washroom facilities, and the hotel has a wide range of smaller meeting rooms, from spaces for around 100 people down to intimate rooms for ten. Space is more limited here, so compact games work best. Pub games, smaller retro arcades, and prize wheels all fit neatly without dominating the room.

Exhibitions and Break-out Spaces

Because the Metropole hosts large exhibitions and product launches as well as conferences, footfall-driving games are often the priority. Grab A Grand cash cubes, Ballnado grabbers and prize wheels all perform well on a stand, particularly if you're exhibiting alongside others and need something that stops passers-by.

What Fun Pro Handles, and What We Don't

To keep everything clear from the start, here's how our service fits around your Metropole booking.

What we handle:

What we don't handle:

If you've not yet booked the venue, the Hilton's conference and events team will be your first call. Once your suite is confirmed, come back to us and we'll slot the entertainment around it.

Planning Entertainment for a Metropole Event

A few practical things are worth thinking about early. Once the hotel has confirmed your suite, it's helpful to share the floor plan with us. That way we can advise on which games fit comfortably, where power points sit relative to your layout, and how to keep walkways clear for guest flow. In a space as large as the Monarch, thinking about where games sit relative to the stage and bar makes a real difference to how much use they get.

Timing is worth checking too. The Metropole runs a high volume of events, so loading access and setup windows are usually coordinated through your events contact at the hotel. Tell us what they confirm and we'll work around it.

In terms of lead time, two to four weeks' notice is usually comfortable for most games. If your event falls in November or December, or coincides with a major NEC show, we'd recommend booking earlier, as those dates tend to fill up first.

It's also worth thinking about the mix of guests attending and choosing games that everyone can join in with. We'll happily talk through options that work for different ages, abilities, and comfort levels. You can read more about our approach on the corporate events page.

Getting Games Delivered to the Hilton Birmingham Metropole

Our base is in Coventry, a short run down the M6 and M42 to the NEC campus. Delivery, setup, and collection are all included in the quote we send you, so there are no surprise charges for logistics. On the day, our team will coordinate arrival and access with the hotel based on which suite you've booked and what time guests arrive. For large exhibitions and stand activations, we tend to arrive earlier to allow time for the layout to come together properly.

If you'd like to see the kind of events we've supplied elsewhere, our testimonials page has feedback from corporate clients across the UK, and the safety and insurance page covers our public liability cover and equipment testing.
