’tis The Season To Plan Christmas Parties – Game Hire

27 June 18 - Tis’ the season to organise your Christmas party!

With all this lovely Summer weather it's hard to start thinking about organising the work Christmas do. We get it, you're thinking about relaxing on your summer holiday and will sort it out when you get back. There's only one problem with this strategy, other companies are organising theirs now and if you don't get started, you'll find you've missed the boat when it comes to venue and entertainment.

To help get you started we've put together a quick guide on things to consider now, to ensure your Christmas event is memorable and hopefully, stress free.

  1. Set the date for your event. If possible have a few dates in mind which can be narrowed down to one based on the availability of your venue.
  2. Find out your budget. Everything you do will depend on this!
  3. If your event is going to be large, consider putting together a committee to help you with planning and organising.
  4. Decide on a venue & book it. Take into consideration your budget, how many people will be coming and the atmosphere you are trying to create.
  5. Decide on a theme. Themes can add a little extra something to an event. There are hundreds to choose from so consider your party goers and what they might like.
  6. Consider what entertainment you will have on the day or night? Will you have a band, DJ or background music? Will you have other forms of entertainment such as a magician, photo booth or interactive games. These too need to be booked early to ensure you don't miss out.
  7. Agree on the type of food you will be serving at your event. Will it be a sit-down dinner, buffet or finger food? If your venue has its own caterers, then there's less to do but if you need outside catering, you need to get organising.

So, if you've been given the task of organising this year's Christmas party, set aside a few hours in the next few weeks to start planning the event. You can then head off on holiday knowing you have the Christmas party in hand and there will be minimal work needed when you get back.
